Electron Transport Chain

Presentations | English

The entire spectrum of microbiology revolves around the study of microorganisms. The scientific study of a diverse group of simple forms, like bacteria, viruses, algea etc.Proteins are very large molecules composed of basic units called amino acids. Protein is a macronutrient that is essential to building muscle mass. Proteins are essential for the body to function properly. Proteins perform a vast array of functions within organisms. They are large, complex molecules that play a critical role in the body. Proteins are of great nutritional value and are directly involved in the chemical processes essential for life. The importance of proteins was recognized in the early 19th century. It helps the body to build and repair cells and tissues. Proteins play a prominent role in many bodily processes. A healthy eating pattern includes a variety of foods containing protein. Both animal and plant foods can be excellent sources of protein. The electron transport chain in proteins is a group of compounds that pass electron from one to another via redox reactions. This coupled with the transfer of proton across a membrane to create a proton gradient that drives ATP synthesis. In this presentation we shall explore this topic further..
