Presentations | English

Novel therapeutic delivery methods have created a new window for medication targeting to specific locations, and they have grown in relevance in recent years. The present traditional delivery method has significant drawbacks such as increased toxicity, limited solubility, low permeability, and stability issues that have an impact on the drug's competency and commercialization. For patients, the most conservative method of medication administration is oral. However, due to disadvantages such as poor absorption, a preference for digestive enzymes in the gastro intestinal tract (GIT), and a limitation in transport over the intestinal barrier. Medication administration to the colon has overcome issues with drug delivery in the treatment of colon illnesses such as inflammatory bowel disease. To obtain better medication release in the colon rather than the stomach, use controlled release dosage forms or superior coated dosage forms to target the medicine straight to the colon.
