ECG (Electrocardiogram)

Presentations | English

This particular test is taken to check hearts rhythm and electrical activity. The process is termed Electrocardiography, where the sensors are attached to the body via gel and heart waves are recorded and monitored. Any variation in cardiac waves Indicate abnormalities in functioning of the heart. The technique is a non-invasive, painless and most common method, usually done in case of any arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythm), any heart blocks or previous heart attack history. The ECG wave is commonly called a PQRST wave, where each segment alterations may be due to any underlying heart problem. The P wave shows atrial depolarization (atria contraction), QRS part indicates ventricular depolarization (ventricle contraction), and T wave shows the ventricular repolarization (normal state). There are mainly three types of ECG tests: Resting ECG, Exercising ECG and 24-hour ECG. The more detailed information can be viewed on the presentation slides as follows.
