Ebola Virus Disease

It is also called Ebola haemorrhage fever, is a rare and severe illness in human. This virus spread to humans from animals. Average EVD fatality rate is around 50 percentage. Community engagement is the key factor to successfully control outbreaks. The incubation period which is the time interval from infection of virus to symptom development takes about 2 to 21 days. A person who develops symptoms can only transmit disease. Symptoms include fever, fatigue, muscle pain, headache and sore throat. Followed by vomiting, rash, diarrhea, impaired kidney and liver function. Diagnostic tests include ELISA, antigen capture detection tests, serum neutralization test, RT PCR assay and electron microscopy. The Ervebo virus shown effectiveness in protecting people from species of Zaire Ebola virus. Raising awareness of infections from ebola virus and protecting measures can reduce human transmission.
