Diodes Rating

Presentations | English

A diode is a device that allows current to flow in only one direction. This is accomplished through the use of a built-in electric field. Light Emitting Diode, Laser diode, Avalanche diode, Zener diode, Schottky diode, Photodiode, and PN junction diode are all examples of diodes. A diode is represented in circuit diagrams by a triangle with a line across one vertex. A Zener diode's power rating indicates the maximum power that the diode can safely dissipate. A diode's peak inverse voltage rating is the maximum reverse voltage that can be connected across a diode without causing it to fail. Download this PPT for more information.
