Difference Between Public Limited and Private Limited Company

The name itself says what type of company is it. The people can be a part of a public limited company. The public can purchase shares. These companies are listed on stock exchanges. Private limited companies are owned by its members only. Their shares can't be traded and will not be listed on stock exchanges. There are many differences in various aspects of processes involved in running an organisation. The number of members required to start the company, the way of holding statutory general meetings and issuing statements are carried out differently. After incorporation a private company can start operations. But public company has to wait till the receipt of certificate of incorporation.
