Presentations | English

Can deforestation lead to an environmental crisis? Deforestation refers to the decrease in forest areas across the world that are lost for other uses such as agricultural croplands, urbanization, or mining activities. It is a serious environmental concern since it can result in the loss of biodiversity, damage to natural habitats, disturbances in the water cycle, and soil erosion. Deforestation, unfortunately, destroys habitats making it very difficult for animals to live. The most common pressures causing deforestation and severe forest degradation are agriculture, unsustainable forest management, mining, infrastructure projects, and increased fire incidence and intensity. There are several consequences of deforestation: Loss of nutrients in the soil that are derived from the breakdown of tree leaves. Increased soil erosion by wind and rain, Animals and plants that are unable to grow outside of a forest environment face extinction and Climatic change is a few amount them.
