Decision Support System

Presentations | English

A company’s decision is taken by the management but are you aware of the computer application program used to improve the decision making capabilities? A decision support system (DSS) is a computer programme application that helps a corporation make better decisions. It analyses enormous volumes of data and delivers the best potential solutions to a company. Decision support systems combine data and expertise from various fields and sources to offer users with information that goes beyond traditional reports and summaries. This is meant to assist people in making well-informed decisions. The following are examples of information that a decision support application might collect and present: sales data compared from one week to the next; revenue projections based on new product sales estimates; and the ramifications of various judgments. In contrast to an operational application, a decision support system is an informational application. Informational applications provide users with relevant data from a range of data sources in order to help them make better decisions. Operational applications, on the other hand, record the details of business transactions, including the data needed for a company's decision-making needs.
