Decision Making

Presentations | English

In its most basic form, decision-making is the process of choosing between two or more options. Decision-making is a step in the problem-solving process that entails selecting one of several possible solutions to a problem. Decisions can be made using an intuitive or rational process, or a combination of both. When making a decision, we use mental processes that are influenced by biases, reason, emotions, and memories to form opinions and choose actions. The simple act of making a decision lends credence to the notion that we have free will. We weigh the advantages and disadvantages of our decision before dealing with the consequences. Missing or incomplete information, pressing deadlines, and a lack of physical or emotional resources are all factors that limit one's ability to make good decisions.
