Data Mining Concepts and Techniques

Presentations | English

Data mining isn’t a new invention that came with the digital age. The concept has been around for over a century but came into greater public focus in the 1930s. Data mining is the process of analyzing massive volumes of data to discover business intelligence that helps companies solve problems, mitigate risks, and seize new opportunities. Achieving the best results from data mining requires an array of tools and techniques. Data mining techniques include data cleaning and preparation, tracking patterns, classification, association, outlier detection, clustering, regression, prediction, sequential patterns, data warehousing, visualization, statistical techniques, long-term memory processing, neural networks, machine learning and artificial intelligence. Data mining has improved organizational decision making through insightful data analysis. Given the evolution of data warehousing technology and the growth of big data, adoption of data mining techniques has rapidly accelerated over the last couple of decades assisting companies by transforming their raw data into useful knowledge.
