A microscopic organism is called microorganism, technically. Another name is microbe. Bacteria, fungi and protists are microorganisms. Viruses and prions are not considered microorganisms since they are classified as non-living. Morphology, nutrition, physiology, reproduction and growth, metabolism, pathogenesis, antigenicity and genetic properties are the biological features of microorganisms. Physical agents and chemical agents are involved in the control of microorganisms. There are different methods of physical control of microorganisms. Some of them are heat, drying and filtration.
