Computer Crimes and Security

Presentations | English

Cyber security and cybercrime are buzzwords in today's digital world. Everyone who uses the internet should view cyber security as an important component of a well-organized and well-maintained digital environment. Cyber security is also a collection of ideas and practises that protects us from hackers, cyber criminals, and other fraudsters. It focuses primarily on people, processes, and technologies that help to reduce vulnerability, online threats, deterrent, and online frauds and attacks. Because they involve computers and networks in cyberspace, cybercrime is also known as computer-oriented crime. A cyber crime is defined as any criminal conduct carried out utilising a computer (or other similar devices such as tablets, mobile phones, and so on) and the internet. In other words, cyber crime refers to any illegal activity involving computer devices and the internet, whether as a tool, a target, or both. In this digital age, there are several cyber security assaults such as Denial of Service (DoS), Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks, phishing attacks, malware attacks, password attacks, SQL injection attacks, banking and digital payment frauds, social media crimes, and so on. This growing list of cyber security risks and attacks underpins the importance of cyber security. However, there are several habits that users can adopt to protect themselves in the online environment.
