Chiriyude Poonthoppil is a song from the movie Chathurvedam. It is a 1977 Indian Malayalam film, directed by J. Sasikumar and produced by S. S. R. Kalaivaanan. The film stars Prem Nazir, Adoor Bhasi, Thikkurissi Sukumaran Nair, Sankaradi, Padmapriya in the lead roles. K. J. Yesudas and P. Madhuri were the singers of this song. The music was composed by G. Devarajan and the lyrics were written by Sreekumaran Thampi. G. Devarajan, also known as Devarajan master, was an Indian music composer and Carnatic vocalist. He composed music for almost 300 Malayalam films, as well as many dramas, twenty Tamil films, and four Kannada films.
ചതുർവേദം എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലെ ഒരു ഗാനമാണ് "ചിരിയുടെ പൂന്തോപ്പിൽ". ജെ. ശശികുമാർ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത് എസ്.എസ്.ആർ. കലൈവാനൻ നിർമ്മിച്ച 1977-ലെ ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ മലയാളം ചിത്രമാണിത്. പ്രേം നസീർ, അടൂർ ഭാസി, തിക്കുറിശ്ശി സുകുമാരൻ നായർ, ശങ്കരാടി, പത്മപ്രിയ എന്നിവരാണ് ചിത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. കെ.ജെ.യേശുദാസും പി.മാധുരിയുമാണ് ഈ ഗാനത്തിന്റെ ഗായകർ. ശ്രീകുമാരൻ തമ്പിയുടെ വരികൾക്ക് ജി.ദേവരാജൻ സംഗീതം പകർന്നു. ദേവരാജൻ മാസ്റ്റർ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ജി. ദേവരാജൻ ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ സംഗീതസംവിധായകനും കർണാടക ഗായകനുമായിരുന്നു. മുന്നൂറോളം മലയാള സിനിമകൾക്കും നിരവധി നാടകങ്ങൾക്കും ഇരുപത് തമിഴ് സിനിമകൾക്കും നാല് കന്നഡ സിനിമകൾക്കും അദ്ദേഹം സംഗീതം നൽകി.
