Chapter9 - Raja–Vidya–Raja–Guhya yoga

Consisting of a total of 34 verses, the 9th chapter of the Bhagavd Gita is titled the ‘Raja–Vidya–Raja–Guhya yoga’ or the ‘Path of the Greatest Secret’. The ‘Raja-Vidya’ implies a meaning of the ‘greatest of all knowledge’ and the ‘Raja–Guhya’ implies the ‘greatest of secrets. The chapter itself begins with Lord Krishna telling Arjuna that he shall reveal and explain the greatest of all secrets so that he shall cut himself free from all of its inauspiciousness. He continues to reveal the importance of worship and its role in one’s spiritual awakening. He again concludes the chapter reminding Arjuna to have constant awareness of the God’s existence and that one will only acquire Him and unite with Him only with thorough dedication and constant devotion.
