Chapter13 - Ksetra–Ksetrajna Vibhaga yoga

Audio | English

The Ksetra–Ksetrajna Vibhaga yoga is the 13th chapter in the Bhagavad Gita. It comprises a total of 35 verses. The term ‘ksetra’ implies the field and the term ‘Ksetrajna’ means the one who knows of the field and here, the field refers to the body, including the individual’s mind, ego, intellect and the latter refers to the soul. The field is materialistic while the one who knows of it is not. This is the first time that these two terms are introduced by Lord Krishna. Also called the ‘Yog through Distinguishing the Field and the Knower of the Field’, the chapter intricately distinguishes between the two entities, the material body and the soul. Here, Lord Krishna gives a broad idea about the two aspects of the basic human existence and being.
