Central Processing Unit

Presentations | English

We can build processors that can be upgraded, but there is no way we can upgrade our processor Central processing unit (CPU), is the integral part of any digital computer system, generally composed of the main memory, control unit, and arithmetic-logic unit. It constitutes the physical heart of the entire computer system; to it is linked various peripheral equipment, including input/output devices and auxiliary storage units. In computers, the CPU is contained on an integrated circuit chip called a microprocessor. A central processing unit (CPU), also called a central processor, main processor or just processor, is the electronic circuitry that executes instructions comprising a computer program. The CPU performs basic arithmetic, logic, controlling, and input/output (I/O) operations specified by the instructions in the program. This contrasts with external components such as main memory and I/O circuitry, and specialized processors such as graphics processing units (GPUs). It is the back born of any Computer as it is serving almost all the initial functions of a system. Please see the engaging presentation for more details.
