Carrot and Guava Byproducts

Presentations | English

Let's take a look at the lesser-known topic of Byproducts. Food technology is a branch of food science that deals with the production, preservation, quality control, and research and development of food products. The byproduct is something that's produced in a usually industrial or biological process in addition to the principal product. A by-product can be useful and marketable or it can be considered waste. The uniqueness of a by-product or service can set it apart from its competitors. Food waste or by-products most commonly refer to edible food products, which are intended for human consumption but have instead been discarded. Due to low yields associated with carrot juice production up to 50% of the raw material remains as pomace which is mainly disposed of as feed or manure. New product development has become all the more important in the modern world characterized by technological change and market dynamics. Processed guava pulp is an excellent raw material for the preparation of various other guava products. Guava juice, blended RTS beverages, Guava wine, Guava powder, jam, toffee. Cheese, ice cream topping, nectar are some important products of guava.
