Cancer Genetics

Presentations | English

Every year, 10 million people are killed by cancer. One-third of all common cancers are preventable. Cancer is the world's second leading cause of death. Cancer develops when one or more genes in a cell mutate. A mutation is a change in an individual's DNA. It causes the synthesis of an abnormal protein. It may also prevent the formation of proteins. Normal proteins do not contain the same information as abnormal proteins. Cells can multiply undeniably and become cancerous as a result.
