'The Delhi Sultans' is a chapter in the class 7 NCERT social science textbook, ‘Our Pasts - II’. Delhi became an important city only in the 12th century. Delhi first became the capital of a kingdom under the Tomara Rajputs. Under the Tomaras and Chauhans, it became an important commercial centre. After 1200 CE, Delhi was ruled by the Sultans who were originally invaders and rulers from Persia and Central Asia. All this and more are covered in the two PPTs on this chapter.
