Business Ethics

Presentations | English

“Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do” – Potter Stewart. In simple terms, ethics is a system of moral principles. It is based on well-founded standards of right and wrong that prescribe what humans ought to do. It is usually considered in terms of rights, obligations, benefits to society, fairness, or specific virtues. Business ethics refers to implementing appropriate business policies and practices with regard to arguably controversial subjects that includes corporate governance, insider trading, bribery, discrimination, corporate social responsibility, and fiduciary responsibilities. It enhances the law by outlining standard behaviours beyond government control. Corporations establish business ethics to promote integrity among their employees and gain trust from key stakeholders, such as investors and consumers. While corporate ethics programs have become common, the quality of the ethics that each organization holds varies. The presentation gives better understanding on the topic.
