Read to know more about British history - The Crusades. The Crusades were considered as a series of religious war, led and supported by the Latin Catholic Churches, which was fought against Muslims of the Middle East, during the time of Mediaeval England. Jerusalem was captured by the Muslims of Middle East. Jerusalem is considered as the City of God and considered holy by Christians. Both Muslims and Christians, in the name of war, started capturing religious sites of each other which made heavy casualities and financial burden. A total of eight expeditions of crusades war is documented during the time of Medieval England. The crusades eventually resulted in the blood shed of both communities by capturing sacred places of the other.
