"A book keeping system used in different branches of an organization for account maintainance. Branch account is a temporary ledger account which can last for a particular accounting period. Better accountability is provided and profitability is controlled since the ledger keeps a tally of assets and liabilities along with debit and credit also profits and loss for specific period. Different methods are entertained in account keeping, they are debtor system, income statement system, stock and debtor system and final accounts system. The different branches of accounting include financial accounting which is recording transactions of business and profit is calculated. Cost accounting is used in industry, where there is lot of resources and cost to manage. Auditing can be internal or external, where the financial statements are checked. Managerial accounting provides data regarding manager's operations in a firm.
