Biggest Problems Faced by Humanity

Presentations | English

Why can't we solve humanities biggest problems? Hundreds of millions of people around the world experience insufficient living conditions due to environmental factors, displacement, disease, poverty or some combination of the four. Humanity is winning more than losing, although where we are losing is very serious. But we all know the future is not necessarily rosy. If current trends in population growth, resource depletion, climate change, terrorism, organized crime, and disease continue and converge over the next 50–100 years, it is easy to imagine a continually unstable world with a series of catastrophic results. History has taught us that good ideas and technologies can have unintended and negative consequences. Growing world population, depleting fresh water levels, emerging new diseases, terrorism, religious and cultural conflicts, unemployment and deforestation are some of the critical problems faced by humanity at present.
