Ulloor. S Parameshwarayyar wrote the book Bhasha Chambukkal. It was published in 1942. He was called upon by the Syndicate of the University of Travancore to deliver a course of five lectures on Champukavyas in Malayalam. In due course, the lectures that were delivered came to be included in “Basha Chambukkal”. The lectures were revised and expanded later in order to meet the requirements of a wide circle of readers. This was the first time that an attempt of this kind has been made in regard to Champu literature in Malayalam.
ഉള്ളൂർ. എസ് പരമേശ്വരയ്യർ ആണ് ഭാഷാ ചമ്പുക്കൾ എന്ന ഗ്രന്ഥം രചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇത് 1942-ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു. തിരുവിതാംകൂർ സർവ്വകലാശാലയുടെ സിൻഡിക്കേറ്റ് മലയാളത്തിൽ ചമ്പുകാവ്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് അഞ്ച് പ്രഭാഷണങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു കോഴ്സ് നടത്താൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ക്ഷണിച്ചു. കാലക്രമേണ, നടത്തിയ പ്രഭാഷണങ്ങൾ “ബാഷ ചമ്പുക്കൾ” എന്നതിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി. വായനക്കാരുടെ വിശാലമായ സർക്കിളിന്റെ ആവശ്യകതകൾ നിറവേറ്റുന്നതിനായി പ്രഭാഷണങ്ങൾ പിന്നീട് പരിഷ്കരിക്കുകയും വിപുലീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. മലയാളത്തിൽ ആദ്യമായിട്ടാണ് ചമ്പു സാഹിത്യത്തിൽ ഇത്തരമൊരു ശ്രമം നടക്കുന്നത്.
