The 1971 film “Makane Ninakku Vendi” starring Prem Nazir, Sheela, Kaviyoor Ponnamma and Adoor Bhasi in the lead roles was written by Parappurathu. The film had musical score done by G. Devarajan, and was directed by E. N. Balakarishnan. “Bavaykkum Puthranum Parishuddha Roohaaykkum…” is one of the famous Christian devotional songs of the Malayalam film industry. The song was brought to life by P. Susheela and Renuka. The song is filled with immense love and devotion to the Lord. The song sequence in the film consists of three characters dressed in white with mild expressions. The song quickly transcended the film and media barrier and got mixed with the social life that it is considered as one of the greatest devotional songs ever written. Young and the old everyone got fascinated by the immense steadfastness of the lyrics.
പ്രേം നസീർ, ഷീല, കവിയൂർ പൊന്നമ്മ, അടൂർ ഭാസി എന്നിവർ പ്രധാന കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ച 1971-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ "മകനെ നിനക്കു വേണ്ടി" എന്ന ചിത്രം എഴുതിയത് പാറപ്പുറത്താണ്. ജി.ദേവരാജൻ സംഗീതസംവിധാനം നിർവ്വഹിച്ച ഈ ചിത്രം സംവിധാനം ചെയ്തത് ഇ.എൻ.ബാലകരിഷ്ണനാണ്. "ബാവയ്ക്കും പുത്രനും പരിശുദ്ധ റൂഹയ്ക്കും..." മലയാള ചലച്ചിത്ര വ്യവസായത്തിലെ പ്രശസ്തമായ ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ ഭക്തിഗാനങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. പി.സുശീലയും രേണുകയുമാണ് ഗാനത്തിന് ജീവൻ നൽകിയത്. ഭഗവാനോടുള്ള അപാരമായ സ്നേഹവും ഭക്തിയും നിറഞ്ഞതാണ് ഗാനം. വെളുത്ത വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച മൂന്ന് കഥാപാത്രങ്ങൾ സൗമ്യമായ ഭാവങ്ങളോടെയാണ് ചിത്രത്തിലെ ഗാനരംഗങ്ങൾ. ഈ ഗാനം സിനിമയുടെയും മാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെയും തടസ്സങ്ങളെ വേഗത്തിൽ മറികടക്കുകയും സാമൂഹിക ജീവിതവുമായി ഇടകലരുകയും ചെയ്തു, ഇത് ഇതുവരെ എഴുതിയ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച ഭക്തിഗാനങ്ങളിലൊന്നായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. വരികളുടെ അപാരമായ ദൃഢതയിൽ ആബാലവൃദ്ധം ഏവരും ആകൃഷ്ടരായി.
