Presentations | English

Study of immune system. Helps in protection from infection and act as defense mechanism of the human body. Lack in proper functioning of this system can result in diseases such as cancer. Cellular components and also molecular ones make the components of immune set-up. Classic immunology includes the elements, based on which innate and adaptive system is differentiated. Innate are physical barriers (saliva) and cells (neutrophils) those are capable to protect an organism in first few days of infecting. Adaptive is involvement of antibodies, target is on foreign pathogens roaming freely. Immunodeficiencies present from birth, rare and hereditary. Autoimmune occur when immune system attacks the body itself. Autoimmune diseases are Crohn’s disease affecting the GI tract or systemic lupus erythematosus. Vaccinations help the body to recognize and defend harmful pathogens. More details about immunology can be obtained from the PowerPoint presentation.
