“Athithi” is a very famous poem of Changampuzha Krishna Pillai. He was well-known poet from Kerala, known for his elegy ‘Ramanan’ which was written in the year 1936. He is credited with bringing poetry to the masses with his simple romantic style. This poem is from the collection Bashpanjali. Baspanjali is a collection of poems which includes themes about wreath, despair, divine feeling etc. this poem was written in the year 1935.
ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ കൃഷ്ണപിള്ളയുടെ വളരെ പ്രശസ്തമായ ഒരു കവിതയാണ്"അതിഥി." 1936-ൽ എഴുതിയ 'രമണൻ' ഒരുവിലാപ കാവ്യമാണ്. കേരളത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഒരു ജനപ്രിയ കവിയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. തന്റെ ലളിതമായ കാല്പനിക ശൈലിയിലൂടെ കവിതയെ ജനങ്ങളിലേക്ക് എത്തിച്ചതിന്റെ ബഹുമതി അദ്ദേഹത്തിനുണ്ട്. ഈ കവിത ബാഷ്പാഞ്ജലി എന്ന സമാഹാരത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ളതാണ്. നിരാശ, ദിവ്യാനുഭൂതി തുടങ്ങിയ വിഷയങ്ങൾ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന ഒരു കവിതാസമാഹാരമാണ് ബസ്പാഞ്ജലി. ഈ കവിത 1935-ൽ എഴുതിയതാണ്.
