"The ninety first chapter or Surah in the Holy Book of Quran is titled Ash-Shams or ""The Sun"". The title name was derived from the very first verse in the Surah, where there is a mention of the word ‘Shams’, and it consists of a total of 15 verses (ayah). The chapter is believed to have made its revelation in Mecca, during the later period of Muhammad's preaching. It was also the time period when the persecution had started to gain severity. The 91st has its most elementary subject of discussion as it begins with an Oath, of that of the celestial elements and of nature.
