"Surah As-Saff or ""The Ranks"" is the sixty first chapter in the Holy Book of Quran. The title is derived from the 4th verse in the chapter where 'ranks' are mentioned. It comprises a total of 14 verses (ayah) divided into 2 Rukus or Sections. The Surah is believed to have been revealed in Madina, around the time of Hijrah and the Battle of Badr. This Surah also begins with praises and the glorification of Allah, hence Surah As-Saff belongs to the 6 Surahs (Surah Al-Hadid, Al-Hashr, As-Saff, Al-Jumuah, At-Taghabun and Surah Al-Ala). The chapter urges Muslims to instill complete faith and trust in Allah. It also urges one to protect the truth of it, no matter what may come. It is believed that the one who reads and recites Surah As-Saff, Prophet Jesus would pray for the individual and after death, would be considered as a companion of Prophet Jesus."
