The song "Anupame Azhake" was sung by K J Yesudas for the movie Ara Nazhika Neram. Its lyrics are written by Vayalar Ramavarma and the music was composed by G Devarajan. Ara Nazhika Neram, directed by K. S. Sethumadhavan and written by Parappurath, is a 1970 Malayalam film based on his own novel of the same name. Parappurath also had a small part in the movie. The film's plot centres on an orthodox Christian family led by Kunjenachan (Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair), a ninety-year-old patriarch who lives his life according to The Book. Prem Nazir, Sathyan, Ragini, Sheela, K. P. Ummer, Adoor Bhasi, and Ambika Sukumaran also star in the film. Kerala State Film Awards (1970) for best Director was won by K. S. Sethumadhavan, best Story by Parappurath and best Actor by Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair.
അര നാഴിക നേരം എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന് വേണ്ടി കെ ജെ യേശുദാസ് പാടിയതാണ് "അനുപമ അഴകേ" എന്ന ഗാനം. വയലാർ രാമവർമ എഴുതിയ വരികൾക്ക് ജി ദേവരാജനാണ് സംഗീതം നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. കെ.എസ്. സേതുമാധവൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത് പാറപ്പുറത്ത് എഴുതിയ അര നാഴിക നേരം, അതേ പേരിലുള്ള അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സ്വന്തം നോവലിനെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി 1970-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ മലയാളചലച്ചിത്രമാണ്. പാറപ്പുറത്തിനും സിനിമയിൽ ചെറിയൊരു പങ്കുണ്ട്. തൊണ്ണൂറ് വയസ്സുള്ള കുലപതിയായ കുഞ്ഞേനച്ചന്റെ (കൊട്ടാരക്കര ശ്രീധരൻ നായർ) നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള ഒരു യാഥാസ്ഥിതിക ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ കുടുംബത്തെ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ചാണ് ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ഇതിവൃത്തം. പ്രേം നസീർ, സത്യൻ, രാഗിണി, ഷീല, കെ പി ഉമ്മർ, അടൂർ ഭാസി, അംബിക സുകുമാരൻ എന്നിവരും ചിത്രത്തിലുണ്ട്. മികച്ച സംവിധായകനുള്ള കേരള സംസ്ഥാന ചലച്ചിത്ര അവാർഡുകൾ (1970) കെ.എസ്. സേതുമാധവൻ, മികച്ച കഥ പാറപ്പുറത്ത്, മികച്ച നടൻ കൊട്ടാരക്കര ശ്രീധരൻ നായർ എന്നിവർ നേടി.
