Poetry is essential because it helps us understand and appreciate our surroundings. The power of poetry lies in its ability to cast a "sideways" light on the world, allowing the truth to creep up on you. There is no doubt about it. Poetry teaches us how to live our lives. If we let it and celebrate it, poetry can help us empathise with one another. This poem is called Anaadhan and the poet is called Anil Panachuran.
