"Surah An-Najm or ""The Star"" is the fifty third chapter in the Holy Book of Quran. The name was derived from the very first verse where there is a mention of the 'star'. It comprises of a total of 62 verses (ayah) divided into 3 Rukus or Sections. Surah An-Najm was revealed in Mecca, around the same time period as that of the revelation of Surah Adh-Dhariyat, At-Tur and Surah Qaf, about 3 to 5 years after the declaration the prophethood of Prophet Muhammad's; all Meccan Surahs. Surah An-Najm addresses the importance and legitimacy of the revelation of Surahs and it's messages as well as Prophet Muhammad's visions, advices and the events such as the delivery of God's messages to the prophet himself. The Surah is known and believed to be the first Surah that was narrated by Prophet Muhammad to the Maccans."
