Amos 01

Audio | English

Amos lived in the eighth century. Author of the Old Testament book of Amos, the Holy Book of Christians and Jews. He is listed among the 12 goddesses. He was a contemporary of Isaiah, Micah, and Hosea. The name Amos comes from the Hebrew name Amos, which means “watchman." Before the declaration, Amos was a shepherd, one of the richest shepherds in Tekoa, and a wild fig gardener. According to his Book, he saw the vision, two years before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah in Judah and Jeroboam the son of Joash in Israel, and he began to prophesy about Israel. His book indicates that he was not a member of the General Assembly and that the call came from the Lord while he was driving the sheep. Amos was the first person to adopt the written form of the Bible. Although Amos was born in southern Judah, he immigrated to northern Israel in the sixth century BC. In his book, he lashes out at a community full of injustice, praises the powerful and burns the poor with lies. He strongly denounces the oppression of race and man. He warns that any race that does not cultivate justice and righteousness will be severely punished by God.
