"Surah Al-Zalzala or ""The Earthquake"" is the ninety ninth Surah or chapter of the Holy Book of Quran. The title was derived from the first verse of the chapter where there is a mention of the word ‘Zilzal’ and it consists of a total of just 8 verses (ayah). Although it is considered a Madinian Surah, similar to the last two Surahs (Surah Al-Qadr and Surah Al-Bayyinal), the exact period of revelation of Surah Al-Zalzala is uncertain. While some believe that the Surah was revealed in Mecca towards the earlier period of Prophet Muhammad’s proclamation of his prophethood., some believe that it was revealed in Madina. It continues as it speaks about how humankind would be categorised and would later have to bear with the consequences. "
