"Surah Al-Qasas or ""The Story"" is the twenty eighth Surah or chapter in the Holy Book of Quran. The name is derived from the 25th verse of the very Surah and it is applicable to the entire chapter since it addresses the story of Prophet Moses. It comprises of a total of 88 verses (ayah) divided into 9 Rukus or Sections. It is believed that this Surah was revealed in Mecca, after the revelation of Surah Ash-Shu'ara, Surah An-Naml and Surah Taha. At this point of time, several Muslims had already migrated to the country of Abyssinia. The name was chosen as it poses a certain relation with the events in the exact coherent sequence of happening of events, in terms of the information known. The contents of the Surah provide a detailed description of the story of Prophet Moses."
