"The 101st chapter or Surah in the Holy Book of Quran is titled Al-Qaria or ""The Catastrophe"" or ""The Striking Calamity"". The title name is derived from the very first verse in the Surah, where there is a mention of the word 'Qari’a', and it consists of a total of 11 verses (ayah). The chapter is believed to have made its revelation in Mecca, during the earlier period of Muhammad's proclamation of his prophethood. The chapter is another one of the Surahs where the main topic of discussion is the Last Day. The title too is a reference to the same idea and the entire Surah speaks about several different events that took place the very day.
