"Surah Al-Qamar or ""The Moon"" is the fifty fourth Surah in the Holy Book of Quran. The name was derived from the very first verse of the Surah, where there is a mention of the 'moon'. It comprises of a total of 55 verses (ayah) divided into 3 Rukus or Sections. It made its revelation in Mecca, around half into the time of Muhammad's prophethood. The very first verse of Surah Al-Qamar is broadly considered to be a point of miracle for the Meccans, where Prophet Muhammad indicates a moon being split into two - while this was considered to be in response to the challenge proposed by the disbelievers' to bring proof of divinity or miracle to prove the legitimacy of his prophethood. Surah also discusses the events of the Day of Judgement while also addressing what led to the God's wrath."
