Surah Al-Qadr or "The Night of Decree" is the ninety seventh Surah of the Holy Book of Quran. The title was derived from the first verse of the chapter and it consists of a total of just five verses (ayah). The Surah is believed to have been revealed in Mecca, during the earlier period of Muhammad's preaching, although there still remains some uncertainty regarding whether it was in actuality revealed there or in Madina. It is broadly considered Meccan due to the character of its theme and content. The elementary subject of focus in the Surah is of that of the information regarding the Night and its power and commemorates the occasion of the first revelation of what later on went on to form the Quran. Hence, the chapter depicts the impact, the importance and the intensity of power.
