"The Surah Al-Ma’ida is the fifth chapter of the Holy Quran. It consists of a total of 120 verses, divided into 16 Rukus or Sections. The subjects dealt with in the Surah is of the rules and regulations regarding hunting, lawful food, ablution, Adam’s sons story, stealing punishment, drink, intoxication, gambling and more. The Surah was revealed at a point of time different from that of Surah Baqarah, Ale Imran and Nisa and according to the time then, Muslim’s had become much more stable as a community in itself. Islam was then no longer an ideology but a certain way of living led by a certain community. The subjects of fulfilments of promise, pledges, justice, the right way of living a righteous life and cleanliness and purity of the mind and the body has also been discussed in the Surah. "
