"The ninetieth chapter or Surah in the Holy Book of Quran is titled Al-Balad or "" The City"". The title name was derived from the very first verse in the Surah, where there is a mention of the word ‘Balad’, and it consists of a total of 20 verses (ayah). The chapter is believed to have made its revelation in Mecca, during the middle period of Muhammad's preaching. It was also the time period when the persecution had just begun its course. The 90th has its most elementary subject of discussion as it begins with an Oath, the Oath of two elements, which are “The City” and “By the Begetter and that which he Begot”. It goes on to address the different phases of human life, in growth.
