Al-Asr

Audio | English

"The 103rd chapter or Surah in the Holy Book of Quran is titled Al-Asr or ""Time"". The title name was derived from the very first verse in the Surah, where there is a mention of the word 'Asr'. It only consists of 3 verses (ayah). The chapter is primarily believed to have made its revelation in Mecca, during the earlier period of Muhammad's proclamation of his prophethood, although, much like the last Surah, there is an alternate opinion where some believe that if was revealed in Madina. In the chapter, the elementary theme coneveyed is that the humankind is at Loss. By saying so, it tries to depict how one must live in the present and not be worried about the past or the future. It stresses on how one is only successful only if one chooses to remain patient and honest. Click on the audio to learn more!"
