Al-Ala

Audio | English

"The eighty seventh chapter or Surah in the Holy Book of Quran is titled Al-Ala or "" The All-Highest"" or ""Glory to Your Lord in the Highest"". The title name was derived from the very first verse in the Surah, where there is a mention of the word ‘A’la, and it consists of a total of 19 verses (ayah). The chapter is believed to have made its revelation in Mecca, towards the earlier days of Prophet Muhammad’s proclamation of his prophethood. The 87th speaks about God, as it even begins or opens with the glorification of the Lord himself and it goes on to speak volumes of the existence of Him and speaks about the rewards and punishments. It is this very Surah or chapter, (Surah Ala) along with Surah Ghashiyh that are recited as prayers, as well in Friday prayers. Click on the audio to learn more!"
