Akkare akkare is a malayalam song from the play Ragam. It's music was composed by L P R Varma and lyrics written by O N V Kurup. Lakshmipuram Palace Pooram Thirunal Varma, or Ravi Varma, was a Carnatic musician, lyricist, music director, vocalist, screenwriter, and actor. In south India, he organised a huge number of Carnatic music concerts. Many Malayalam films and professional dramas featured him as a performer and composer. started music from the age of eight and he was trained under the carnatic musicians. He played Vishwanatha Bhagavathar in the Malayalam film Ayitham (1988), which also starred Mohanlal. By the end of the nineteenth century, Malayalam theatre and drama had flourished. Manipravala Shakunthalam, a translation of Kalidasa's Abhijnana Shakuntalam by Kerala Varma Valiya Koi Thampuran in 1882, was the first Malayalam drama. From the 1930s to the 1950s, a slew of great playwrights penned new works.
