Advantages of Irrigation

Presentations | English

Irrigation is a method of an advanced watering system for helping plants to grow because it is applied as an alternative to rain-fed farming. At the same time, it aids in providing plants with the nutrients required for development and growth. It helps in achieving high yields by enabling the penetration of roots in the dry fields. Traditionally, water for irrigation can be sourced from dams, lakes, rivers, wells, ponds, reservoirs, canals or tube-wells, among various other sources. Specialized drip irrigation directs water specifically to the root ball of each plant. Typical rainstorms and hand watering indiscriminately water everything including the surrounding weed seeds causing them to germinate. Water directed by a specialized drip irrigation system prevents this. Hand watering especially on large lawns and gardens are time consuming and tedious. Modern irrigation systems have timers so your plants will always be watered right on schedule.
