“Aariyam sooryaagni pushpangal choodi” is a drama song which was beautifully composed by M.K. Arjunnan, who is an Indian film and theatre composer, known for his works in Malayalam cinema and the theatre of Kerala. This drama song was from the very famous play titled “Iruttum Velichavum” which was presented by the well-known theatre company Vaikom Malavika. This song was written by the prominent Malayalam poet O.N.V. Kurup.
"ആരിയം സൂര്യാഗ്നി പുഷ്പങ്ങൾ ചൂടി" എന്ന നാടകഗാനം മനോഹരമായി ചിട്ടപ്പെടുത്തിയത് എം.കെ. അർജുനനാണ്. ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ ചലച്ചിത്ര-നാടക സംഗീതസംവിധായകൻ കൂടിയായ അദ്ദേഹം മലയാള സിനിമയിലും കേരളത്തിലെ നാടകരംഗത്തും തന്റെ സൃഷ്ടികൾക്ക് പേരുകേട്ടതാണ്. പ്രശസ്ത നാടക കമ്പനിയായ വൈക്കം മാളവിക അവതരിപ്പിച്ച “ഇരുട്ടും വെളിച്ചവും” എന്ന നാടകത്തിലെ വളരെ പ്രസിദ്ധമായ നാടക ഗാനമായിരുന്നു ഈ ഗാനം. ഈ ഗാനം എഴുതിയത് മലയാളത്തിലെ പ്രമുഖ കവി ഒ.എൻ.വി. കുറുപ്പാണ്.
