The drama song which begins with “Aadipaapam” is from the very famous play “Anna Karenina.” This play was presented by the well-known theatre group Kaarthyayani Theatres. This drama song was written by the most prominent Malayalam poet O.N.V. Kurup and it was composed by the popular music composer Vypin Surendran. The play is basically adapted from the Russian novel “Anna Karenina” which was one of the greatest works of literature, written by Leo Tolstoy. This book was considered as his first novel.
ആദിമപാപം" എന്ന് തുടങ്ങുന്ന നാടകഗാനം വളരെ പ്രശസ്തമായ"അന്നാ കരേനിന" എന്ന നാടകത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ളതാണ്. പ്രശസ്ത നാടക സംഘമായ കാർത്ത്യായനി തിയേറ്റേഴ്സാണ് ഈ നാടകം അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത്. ഈ നാടകഗാനം എഴുതിയത് മലയാളത്തിലെ പ്രമുഖ കവി ഒ.എൻ.വി. കുറുപ്പ്, പ്രശസ്ത സംഗീതസംവിധായകൻ വൈപ്പിൻ സുരേന്ദ്രൻ ഈണം പകർന്നു. ലിയോ ടോൾസ്റ്റോയ് എഴുതിയ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച സാഹിത്യകൃതികളിലൊന്നായ റഷ്യൻ നോവലായ"അന്നാ കരേനിന"യിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഈ നാടകം അടിസ്ഥാനപരമായി രൂപപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ പുസ്തകം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ നോവലായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
