The "4 Ps" – Product, Price, Promotion, and Place – were originally used to define the marketing mix. A fifth "P" – People – was recently added to service businesses. Packaging and positioning are two more important categories of strategic marketing analysis that have recently been added to the marketing mix. Because products, markets, customers, and needs change so quickly, you must revisit these seven Ps on a regular basis to ensure you're on track and getting the best results possible in today's marketplace.
