Quite different from his first letter, Peter addresses false teachings and a maturity to identify such. He exhorts them to grow strong in faith so as not to fall into such traps and also to gain skills and knowledge to identify such deceiving traps. He persuades them to be more fruitful, looking earnestly unto the day of the Lord. Key verse from 2 Peter: (3:9) The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to, but everyone to come to repentance.
