Between the "ancient time" and the "modern period," the Indian subcontinent had a lengthy post-classical period known as "medieval India." The Early Medieval and Late Medieval eras make up the entire mediaeval period. The 'early mediaeval period' spanned from the sixth to the thirteenth century, and the 'late mediaeval period', which ended with the establishment of the Mughal Empire in 1526, covered the fourteenth to the sixteenth century.
