Being the founding father of the church in Corinth, Paul writes his first letter to them with a broken heart. His fatherly affections for them are evident in how he disciplines them and expresses his concern over their spiritual well-being. Paul addresses the inexcusable sexual immorality among them, use of spiritual gifts and misunderstandings regarding the gospel and Jesus Christ. He also commands against divisions among them and also other un-christian practices. Key verse from 1 Corinthians: (13:4-7)Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
